Grandmother Clock (circa 1980s) - Ornately designed Oak and Oak Veneer with a German Made Movement and a Moon Phase Dial.
Here is a "Grandmother's Clock," that was purchased from a fellow NAWCC member in May of 2003. It features a nice moon phase dial (29 1/2 days) with views of a Clipper Ship under full sail at sea, a windmill scene and, of course, a full moon face. It is made from real nice Oak wood and has some ornate decorations. The chimes work on the quarter hour, half hour, three quarter hour and full hour (and at the top of the hour the clock also dongs the number of times for the hour of the day.) It stands 6'-4" tall (from the bottom to the top of the finial) and is 16" wide and 10" deep. There are 3 weights that work on an 8 day cycle that wind the German movement. The movement was recently disassembled and cleaned and the clock is running smoothly and keeping accurate time.
